Meet Kennedy
Postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and the heart behind Cuddle Bear Doula Care
🌱 How it started
I’m Kennedy, and Cuddle Bear Doula Care has been my passion project for over seven years. What began as a dream to become an OB/GYN has turned into something even more meaningful: helping families feel held during one of the most vulnerable, transformative seasons of life.
I grew up in a single-parent household filled with love, kindness, and resilience. From a young age, I was fascinated by pregnancy and birth; by the science, the miracle, and the physical transformation someone goes through as they bring a baby earth side. Over time, that curiosity evolved into something deeper: a reverence for the postpartum experience, and a calling to support families during those tender early days with a new baby.
🎓 My path to doula work
I discovered doula work while in college, and it felt like a lightbulb turning on. I knew I’d found my path. I started working as a doula part-time while completing my degree in psychology and Black American Studies. I graduated in 2021 with a full heart and a clear direction.
Since then, I’ve been working full-time as a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist, offering Los Angeles and Orange County families both hands-on support and the emotional grounding they need to move through the fourth trimester with confidence and calm.
🌈 Who I serve
My work is especially rooted in care for:
First-time parents
Queer and LGBTQ+ families
Families navigating nontraditional dynamics
Single parents, older parents, chosen families
Families welcoming babies through fostering, adoption, or assisted reproduction
I believe that a healthy family isn’t defined by a specific structure. It’s made by the community that surrounds and supports it. Whether that’s your partner, your best friend, your co-parent, or your aunties, your family deserves to feel celebrated, seen, and supported.
✨ My approach to care
At the core of everything I do is this belief:
You deserve support that feels safe, affirming, and genuinely helpful.
Whether I’m prepping a meal, soothing a fussy baby, or offering a shoulder to cry on, I bring:
Evidence-based education
Hands-on newborn care skills
A calm, respectful presence
Joy, curiosity, and genuine care
While I plan to apply to medical school in the future with hopes of becoming a pediatrician, right now I’m fully immersed in this work and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

A final note
Thank you for being here. Whether you're still exploring your options or you're ready for hands-on support, I'm honored you're considering me.
Ask me about my prices!! If you’d love to work with me but I’m a bit outside of your price range, don’t hesitate to still reach out. I love to meet families where they’re at when I can, or see if I can offer a referral to another professional that might be able to help.
If you're looking for care that’s practical, tender, and tailored to your unique family, let’s connect! It would be my honor to work with you.
